Who We Are
The New England Wilderness Medicine Conference is hosted by a group of medical students from UMass Chan Medical School, in collaboration with residents and attending physicians from across the United States.
Our team is united by a shared passion for practicing medicine in austere environments and a commitment to providing high-quality education and training for those looking to learn more about the field.
Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver hands-on, practical teaching in wilderness medicine through a combination of lectures and simulation sessions.
We aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle medical emergencies in remote and austere environments.
Whether you're a seasoned professional or new to the field, our conference offers valuable insights and experiences to enhance your practice.
The Location: Umass Chan
The UMass Chan Medical School University Campus is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, just north of Route 9. It is on the west side of Lake Quinsigamond between Plantation Street and Lake Avenue North. The campus is easily accessible from many major highways and the MBTA Commuter Rail if arriving from Boston.
The event will be held in the Faculty Conference Room on the first floor of the medical school building. To access the Faculty Conference Room, enter the building via the main Medical School entrance. The door to the Faculty Conference Room will be on your right upon entering the lobby.
